# CSR and employee volunteering in Bengaluru.

> A CSR-1 registered NGO in Bengaluru. Bring your team for a volunteering day with children, sponsor the Kalakriti arts festival or fund weekend classes. 80G, 12A.

Bring your team for a day with children from Bengaluru’s low-income communities, fund the weekend classes they come to, or put your name on Kalakriti, their arts festival. We plan it with you, run it with you, and send a report afterwards.

## Four ways to help.

Most companies start with a volunteering day and come back for something bigger. Mix them as you like.

- **Volunteering days**: A half or full day for your team: a session with the children, kit-building at your office, painting a classroom, or crewing one of our big days.
- **Sponsor Kalakriti**: Our children’s arts festival, once a year. ₹1,000 brings a child for the day; ₹50,000 sponsors one of its eight events.
- **Fund a programme**: CSR funding for weekend classes, shared meals or community days, with the budget, milestones and reports agreed before we start.
- **Gift and kit drives**: Your employees fund or collect school kits, ration kits or Gift a Smile wishes, and we take them to children we know by name.

## Bring your team.

Pick a format and we handle the rest: the place, the materials, fitting around the children’s week, and an Optimist lead on the day.

### A session with the children

Run a maths, Spoken English or art and craft session in small groups, alongside the Optimists who teach the class every week.

- Team size: 8 to 15 people
- How long: About 3 hours, on a Saturday or Sunday morning
- Where: Our community centre in Ibbaluru, near Bellandur
- We bring: The lesson plan, the materials and a briefing before you start.

### Kit-building at your office

Assemble learning, school or hygiene kits as a team. We take them to the children and tell you where they went.

- Team size: 20 to 100 people
- How long: 2 to 3 hours, on a weekday
- Where: Your office
- We bring: Everything for the kits, and a short talk about who they’re for.

### Paint a classroom or a wall

Turn a bare wall into a mural, or a classroom into one with maps, numbers and the alphabet on its walls.

- Team size: 15 to 40 people
- How long: A full day
- Where: A school, home or centre we work with in Bengaluru
- We bring: The site, the design, paint and tools, and someone to lead the painting.

### Crew one of our big days

Run one of Kalakriti’s eight events, or help hand out the gifts children wished for at Gift a Smile.

- Team size: 10 to 40 people
- How long: A full day, at Kalakriti in September or Gift a Smile in December and January
- Where: The festival venue, or the places we hand out gifts
- We bring: A role for everyone, a briefing and lunch.

**What a day costs.** We quote each day as the materials plus a facilitation charge, which covers the planning, the Optimist lead, getting to the site and the report afterwards. For scale: the materials for Oracle’s seed-pen day came to ₹6,550, and the paint for the wall Ethos painted to ₹20,271. You get the quote after our first call, before you commit.

Companies who have volunteered with us in Bengaluru: Ethos (painted a wall at an orphanage), Oracle (made seed pens with us).

## Give children a stage.

Once a year, children from our communities get one full day of arts and culture: eight events marked by guest judges, a stage of their own and a hall cheering them on. Every child goes home with a certificate, and the ones who shine get a year of training through Kalakriti Horizon, with competitions outside to test their skills.

- **One child, ₹1,000**: Brings one child for the day: travel, lunch, materials, a medal and a certificate.
- **One event, ₹50,000**: Sponsors one of the eight events, from rangoli to group dance, with your name on its stage and in the festival report.
- **Title sponsor, ₹4,50,000**: Covers the whole festival, with your name on Kalakriti and on everything we put out about it.

Kalakriti 3.0 cost ₹4,44,190 for 500 children, about ₹890 a child, and Kalakriti Horizon, the year of dance, music and art training before it, another ₹2,03,373. Every rupee is in the financial disclosure. [Read the disclosure](https://proudindian.ngo/reports/disclosure-kalakriti-3-0.pdf).

## Where your CSR goes.

Each programme maps to an activity in Schedule VII of the Companies Act. We agree the budget, the milestones and the reporting with you before anything starts.

- **Teach (Education)**: Schedule VII (ii) Promoting education. Your funding pays for: Class materials, learning kits, the weekend classes at our community centre, and school fees for children who would otherwise drop out. What it cost in 2025–26: ₹2,00,000 to clear four students’ pending school fees, ₹14,800 on learning kits, ₹12,243 on art and craft materials and ₹20,000 towards the community centre.
- **Feed (Nutrition)**: Schedule VII (i) Eradicating hunger and malnutrition. Your funding pays for: Ration kits for families, and a proper meal whenever we bring the children together. What it cost in 2025–26: ₹37,960 on ration kits and ₹37,735 on food distribution.
- **Paint (Kalakriti)**: Schedule VII (v) Promoting art and culture. Your funding pays for: The festival day, from the venue and travel to the medals, and Kalakriti Horizon, a year of training for the children who shine on the day, with outside competitions to test their skills. See the sponsorships above. What it cost in 2025–26: ₹4,27,936 for Kalakriti 2.0, with 450+ children, and ₹1,69,772 for the year of training after it.
- **Connect (Community)**: Schedule VII (iii) Reducing inequalities faced by economically backward groups. Your funding pays for: Gift a Smile, outings for the children, and community days. What it cost in 2025–26: ₹2,49,239 for Gift a Smile.

Those are whole years, from our [audited accounts for 2025–26](https://proudindian.ngo/reports/audited-financials-2025-26.pdf). You can fund a programme for a year, a term or a single drive: tell us what you have in mind and we’ll send a plan with costs.

### Gift and kit drives

A drive lets everyone in the company take part, not just the people who can come out for a day.

- **Gift a Smile** (December and January): Children tell us what they wish for; your employees fund or buy the gifts, and we hand them over.
- **School kits** (Before the school year): Bags, books and stationery for children starting a new year.
- **Ration kits** (Any time): Groceries for a family’s month, packed by your team or bought through us.

## From first email to report.

1. **Write to us.** Tell us your team size, rough dates and what you have in mind. We reply within two working days.
2. **Plan it together.** A call to pick the format and the date, then a quote and the paperwork your CSR team needs.
3. **On the day.** An Optimist lead meets your team, briefs everyone and runs the day with you.
4. **The report.** Photos, numbers and receipts within two weeks. For CSR funding, a utilisation report as well.

## Children first.

Everyone who spends time with our children follows the same rules, whether they come on their own or with their company.

- Volunteers are 18 or over, and every session with children starts with a short briefing.
- Nobody is ever alone with a child. An Optimist is always in the room.
- We take the photos, and share only the ones we have permission to use. Please don’t photograph the children yourself.
- No personal contact with children or their families outside our sessions, including phone numbers and social media.
- Gifts and money go through us, never to one child, so every child gets the same.
- Anyone who doesn’t follow the rules is asked to leave.

## With thanks to our partners.

## Questions, answered.

### Is Proud Indian eligible for CSR funding?

Yes. We are registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to take on CSR projects (CSR-1 CSR00053151), registered under 80G and 12A, and our accounts have been audited every year since 2019–20. See the [paperwork](https://proudindian.ngo/csr/#paperwork).

### Can a volunteering day count towards our CSR spend?

That’s for your CSR committee to decide. Either way, we give you an invoice with the costs broken down and a report on the day.

### How many people can you take?

From 8 for a session with the children to around 100 for kit-building at your office. For a bigger team we split the day into batches or mix the formats.

### Can we volunteer on a weekday?

Yes, for kit-building at your office and for most painting days. Sessions with the children are on Saturdays and Sundays, because they’re at school during the week.

### Where do volunteering days happen?

Sessions with the children are at our community centre in Ibbaluru, near Bellandur. Painting days are at schools, homes and centres we work with around Bengaluru, and kit-building is at your office.

### How far ahead should we plan?

Three to four weeks for most days, and longer for a painting day or a Kalakriti sponsorship.

### Can we do something regular, not just one day?

Yes. A team can come to a class every month, or fund a programme for a year. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll plan it with you.

### Do donations get an 80G receipt?

Yes. Every donation gets an 80G receipt by email; add your PAN when you donate. For receipts and invoices, write to finance@proudindian.ngo.
